Cory Matthews

Cory Matthews is the main character of Boy Meets World. The show follows Cory's life through his junior high, high school, then college years. Each new episode Cory is faced with a challenge or funny mishap that he and his best friend Shawn and girlfriend Topanga must fix. Cory lives with his parents who are happily married. Each day Cory does his best to solve everyone else's problems and avoid change in his own life. Cory is always cracking funny jokes and making fun of his crazy curly hair. His goal is to work to keep his friendships strong so that even when they're grown up and moved on with their lives, their friendships will remain. He hates change and he will do whatever it takes to avoid it.
Shawn Hunter

Shawn Hunter is Cory's best friend in the entire world. Shawn is a "bad boy" and slacker. He is always causing trouble for him and Cory. Shawn's parents are divorced. His mom walked out on him and his father years ago to marry a different man. Shawn has a rough home life. He lives with his dad on and off for the early seasons until his father passes away. Shawn has a troubled past and struggles to find his place in this world. He slacks off in school and isn't the smartest kid around. Him and Cory are inseparable and call each other "brothers." Even Cory's Mom and Dad refer to Shawn as part of their family. The only relative Shawn occasionally keeps in touch with is his half-brother Jack who enters the series in season six. Their relationship starts off as strained but they work to become loving brothers.
Topanga Lawrence

Topanga Lawrence is Cory Matthews' girlfriend, and by the end of the series, his wife. Topanga and Cory met on a playground as young kids and have been in love ever since. Topanga always works to be a perfectionist, in and out of the classroom. When Cory and Shawn decide to act on their poorly thought out ideas, Topanga steps in as the voice of reason. Topanga is a very smart, logical thinker. Cory and Topanga express their love for each other constantly throughout the series. Topanga does not only love towards Cory, but she constantly reminds others of their love for each other and their friendships. Topanga is the peacekeeper and voice of reason.
Eric Matthews

Eric Matthews is Cory Matthews' oldest brother. Throughout the series Eric's character grows and changes. Eric starts out as Cory's cooler brother who wants nothing to do with Cory. Later Cory and Eric's relationship develops into a loving and caring brotherhood. Eric Matthews doesn't apply himself academically in school. He views school as a playground and social gathering so he never works hard on assignments. Eric is the comedic relief on the show. Eric doesn't have common sense and it often shows in a very funny way. Eric occasionally hangs around with Cory and Shawn offering up some not-so-helpful advice that usually makes the problems worse, before they gets better.
George Feeny (Mr.Feeny)

George Feeny is the Matthew's next-door neighbor. Mr. Feeny is also the mentor to each character on the show. Mr. Feeny is Cory, Shawn, and Topanga's teacher for each season of the show. When they enter a new grade level, Feeny is their teacher again and again, even into their college years. When someone is struggling with a problem or needs advice, they come to Mr. Feeny. Feeny doesn't give straight to the point advice, but he always has the most helpful approach to a problem. This usually leads the character to the lesson they need to learn. Feeny is the concerned neighbor, teacher, and friend who always seems to know when something is wrong. Each character develops a special relation to Mr. Feeny.
